Vaneesa Cook earned her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2015.  Her dissertation (and first book, published next year with the University of Pennsylvania Press) focuses upon left-of-center religious activists.  She taught courses in US history at UW-Madison, and also at Queen's University in Kingston, ON, where she served as a postdoctoral instructor 2015-2017.  Her writings have appeared in journals such as Religion & American Culture and Dissent magazine.
