Gregory Porcaro was born in Racine, WI in 1971. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - Parkside in Kenosha, WI in 1994 and received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1998. Associate Professor Gregory Porcaro joined the Department of Art & Design at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater in 2001 and his primary teaching duties are in the Painting and Drawing areas. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, he taught for two years at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. His research includes professional practice in painting and printmaking and has exhibited extensively in nationally adjudicated exhibitions throughout the country such as: the annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition, Paper In Particular National Exhibition, Parkside National Small Print Exhibition and Delta National Small Prints Exhibition. Recently, Gregory has founded a fine arts lithography printing press called Mimesis Press that currently supports the UWW Visiting Artists program and UWW art alumni in the creation of editioned prints. He lives in Whitewater with his wife Sharon and their three sons Christopher, Brian and Jarvis.
