Ben Strand hails from the Uplands of southwestern Wisconsin.

He has over twenty years of Higher Education fundraising and non-profit experience, serving at UW-Whitewater for ten years - first at the Young Auditorium and now with the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement Office. As a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) he has demonstrated the highest standards in ethics and professionalism in fundraising.

Ben holds two degrees from the University of Wisconsin and an MFA from Goddard College in Vermont. In 2021, his work on the Black Hawk War, a regional guide to the 1832 conflict, was published by Arcadia Press.

He has a long-standing commitment to the Wisconsin Idea and has actively promoted community engagement and curricular connections. Ben works with alumni and friends to build meaningful relationships that leverage the interests and talents of donors to strengthen the UW-Whitewater family.
