Chris Henige

At UW-Whitewater

Chris Henige received his MA and PhD in Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and joined the faculty in 2001. His area of specialization is Medieval Architecture, and is currently writing a monograph on the Augustinian Abbey of Saint-Martin-aux-Bois. He recently became part of the Creation of Gothic Architecture Project, a four-year project to database individual building elements of nearly 800 Gothic churches. This project will also involve the creation of 3D models of each of the churches which will be integrated into a web-based game engine to allow users to walk through individual buildings. Chris has also developed, which now includes the Immersive Imagery Project, which presents 360-degree panoramas and hi-resolution zoomable imagery for numerous medieval buildings, as well as the Portal Project, a systematic documentation of French medieval portals using hi-resolution imagery.
