Teaching Philosophy: My role as a counselor educator, coming from a constructivist foundation, is to create a safe learning environment that encourages reflection, growth, and engagement while simultaneously encouraging you to expand through conversations about difficult topics. I believe that we grow in and through relationship. Connectedness is essential for brain development and learning. Each person brings their own multiple realities into the classroom which inform our perceptions of relationships, information, and the world. We will use these multiple perceptions as a class to create meaning and new understanding and learn new skills. My hope is to create a learning environment together that allows all to feel safe, seen, and heard by being attentive, attuned, and responsive to each other.
