Kat Bastien '05 graduated from UW-Whitewater, earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. While a student at UW-Whitewater, Kat participated in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble as a non-music major/minor, performing on flute. She comes from a strong foundation of musical professionalism, having grown up in a family of musicians, many who have made successful careers with the education they earned at UW-Whitewater.
After graduation, Kat began her professional working career in UW-Whitewater's University Advancement division through positions in Alumni Relations, the UW-Whitewater Foundation, and University Marketing and Communications. She has exceptional managerial and administrative experience, bringing her extensive skillsets in event planning, project management, and marketing and communications to the Department of Music.
Kat has been with the Department of Music since Novemeber of 2019. She is excited to have the opportunity to return her professional focus to her love of the arts and bring her experience to the Department of Music to assist in the advancement and enrichment of music programs at UW-Whitewater.
Kat Bastien resides in Fort Atkinson, Wis. In her downtime, she enjoys cooking, gardening, biking, enjoying the outdoors, water sports, theatrical and musical performances, and spending time with her family.
