I first started working at the Children's Center in January 2009 as a teaching assistant. I continued to work here throughout college as I pursued my degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. After graduating in 2013, I was hired as a lead teacher. Since working at the Children's Center, I have also obtained licensure in Early Childhood and taken part in many professional development opportunities, one of the most meaningful being a staff trip to Boulder Colorado. This trip helped give me a better understanding of the Reggio philosophy through teaching and my environment. I absolutely love teaching and couldn't imagine doing anything else. I really appreciate the Center's perspective on learning. I love being able to teach the children what they are interested in and watching the excitement and love for learning on their faces. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors, playing sports (volleyball and softball), traveling, and doing crafts! Currently, my partner and I are living in Edgerton, WI with two children - Paisley, born in 2018 and Wesley born in 2021 ! Having them has given me more of a perspective on how much trust you have given me to teach your children, SO THANK YOU!
